The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012
Short Notes
Introduction
Child sexual abuse is a grave violation of a child's rights and poses a significant threat to their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. To address this pressing issue and protect children from sexual offenses, the Indian government enacted the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in 2012. The POCSO Act is a comprehensive legal framework designed to ensure the safety, security, and dignity of children by providing legal measures to prevent, address, and punish sexual offenses against them.
